What are Attendance groups?
Attendance groups allow you to define between 3-5 thresholds to identify students based on their attendance. Each student is assigned a group, and their attendance is visually colour-coded across Satchel One, including class registers and Attendance Insights.
The default thresholds and colours follow the standard attendance diamond model, but can be edited to suit school attendance policy.

Are attendance groups visible to students or parents? | No. Attendance groups are internal to staff and used in reporting and dashboard colour indicators only. |
What happens to reporting when I delete and recreate groups? | Reports will use the active attendance group definitions at the time the data is viewed. Previous reports wonβt reflect deleted group boundaries. |
Can the attendance thresholds overlap? | No. The system automatically adjusts adjacent groups when thresholds are changed to prevent any overlaps. |
Can I change the colours associated with each group? | Not directly via this section. The colours follow the attendance diamond convention and are automatically applied. |
