Marking tasks as submitted and applying a grade can be done both in bulk and individually. The grades available in the drop down menu when marking tasks are determined by the marking scheme selected when setting the tasks. You will be unable to amend your chosen marking scheme once students have submitted work to the task.
The Gradebook can be used to mark tasks as submitted and to view submissions and grades across all tasks in the class. To access your Gradebook, go to My classes and click Manage class beneath the class you would like to view mark tasks for.
To grade student submissions at a glance, select one or more cells from your gradebook, and then click on Edit to add a status and grade. If you need to change or remove a grade or submission status, select the student or students with the incorrect status and then apply a new one or select the the white circle to clear the submission and tick Clear grade to remove the grade.
The Assess tab
Alternatively, you can use the Assess tab from each task to add grades to a homework task. You can visit a task by clicking on the title from the Gradebook, calendar, or from your dashboard, and then select the Assess tab.
To begin, select the student whose work you wish to grade from the list. You can select multiple students to assign their grades in one go. On the right side of the page, select the submission status (Submitted, Submitted Late, Absent, Resubmission or Not Submitted).
Next, select a grade from the drop-down menu. You can also leave a comment to your students from this page.
If you need to change or remove a grade or submission status, select the student or students with the incorrect status and then click the x on the right hand-side of the submission or grade drop-drown menu.
💡Top tip: You can also access the Assess tab for a homework task from the Gradebook by clicking Assess under the homework task's title.
