There are a number of digital homework types our teachers can choose from that can support distance learning, as well as help keep everything in one place.

Apart from self-grading Spelling tests and Quizzes, teachers can also request Assignments and Classwork to be submitted online via Satchel One or a different platform of your choice.

Creating online submissions

Simply create a new task and opt for ‘Online submission (via Satchel One)’:

Students have the option to type their homework directly into Satchel One, or upload an attachment, such as documents, images and other media. Find out more.

Alternatively, you can pick another platform from the list. The options can be customised by your school administrators. Add another method.

Viewing online submissions

Once students have submitted their work, you will be able to view it on the Assess page.

Click on an individual student to view their submissions or click on Download all student work to receive a .zip file for the whole class.

💡 Top tip: Avoid downloading files! Google Drive and OneDrive links uploaded by students will open the shared document on a new tab

Marking online submissions

You can share feedback, annotated work or additional resources to students directly in the comments.

  1. Select a single student, a group or all students on the left

  2. Click +Add comment and select the paper clip

  3. Select a file from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive.

  4. Optional: type a message for your student(s)

  5. Post your comment

Students will be able to see the files you share with them on the website and the mobile app.
