What are Satchel Classes?
Satchel Classes are a new service from Satchel. Our aim is to run a timetable of live, online weekly classes to help support students’ learning by providing them with a variety of different skills, learning experiences and talks that they can choose to attend.
Who are Satchel Classes for?
We are launching Satchel Classes to our parent user base on Satchel One, empowering them to make choices with their child about attending any of the lessons provided. The classes will be aimed at secondary school aged students and all classes will come with a suggested age range, key stage and details of any equipment needed so parents can make informed decisions.
What content will be covered?
The aim of Satchel Classes is to truly democratise education by providing access from low-cost curriculum support to career guidance and life skills all on one platform. We are keen to find out which classes are most popular so that we can run these types of classes more regularly.
How can I sign up for Satchel Classes?
Parents will shortly be able to sign up for our pilot in July by clicking on the parent market icon in the parent mobile app. After viewing a class that is suitable for their child, simply book a place.
Do the classes cost money?
We are committed to running a number of free classes every week to make this an inclusive service. Alongside this, we will be offering low-cost group sessions with a live tutor. We hope to be able to open up additional learning opportunities to all students that we work with.
Do you provide refunds?
Yes we do. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way. Parents can get a full refund up to 15 minutes before the start time of a live session.
