What is the Issued Tasks report?

Issued Tasks is a report displaying every individual task set across the whole school.

Staff can view the core information about each task onscreen, or click the hyperlink to view the task itself in more detail. The report can be exported into CSV format.

The actions within this section are controlled by the Reports permission

To access the Issued Tasks report, navigate to Reports > Issued Tasks.

The report displays core information about each individual task:

  • Teacher

  • Subject

  • Class group

  • Year group

  • Task name (hyperlinked)

  • Task type

  • Created at

  • Issued on

  • Due on

  • Estimated completion time

The list of tasks can be sorted in ascending / descending order by any of these variables. To sort, click the arrows on any column heading - click twice to sort in reverse order.

To view the list of tasks in full screen mode, click the full screen icon (four diagonal arrows) on the top right-hand side of the table.

Filter Issued Tasks

The filtering options at the top of the page are used to refine the list of tasks.

By default, the date range covers the past week, but you can customise it to cover a specific timeframe. Select the date range you require and click Apply dates. The selected dates refer to when the task was set live to students and parents ('Issue Date').

In More filters, you will find further options to refine your list of tasks. Toggle on each setting to view all available options.

Filter tasks by:

  • Teacher

  • Subject

  • Class group

  • Year group

  • Type

💡 You can also choose to include or exclude the selected option in your dataset.

Once your filters are selected, be sure to click Apply filters.

As an alternative, you can filter the list of tasks by any of the individual column headings. Underneath each heading, there is a box called ‘Filter data’. In this box, type the word you’d like to filter by and press Enter on your keyboard.

Export data

To export the Issued Tasks in CSV format, click the blue button ‘Export CSV’ on the top right-hand side of the screen. Any filters you have applied will be carried over.

Use cases

Issued Tasks is versatile and customisable. We’ve outlined a few common use cases below.

Evaluate homework quality

Each task is hyperlinked, allowing you to click into the task and monitor the quality of work set by the teacher. Have they provided clear instructions? Is the task relevant to the syllabus? Is the task too easy or difficult? Have they given the students an appropriate amount of time to complete the task?

Alternatively, rather than clicking into each task individually, the Issued Tasks report can be exported to CSV. The CSV export contains the full description of each task, one after the other, allowing you to evaluate multiple tasks more efficiently.

HoDs - View tasks set within a department

Heads of Department (HoDs) often need an overview of the work teachers in their department are setting. To achieve this, use the subject filter to select all relevant subjects. For example, a Head of Science might want to include Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
