What is the Seating coverage report?

Seating coverage is a report displaying a summary and the full details of every seating plan across the whole school. You can use this report to easily identify classes without a linked seating plan, teachers who haven’t created any seating plans, and more.

View the Seating coverage report

🔏 The actions within this section are controlled by the Reports permission

To access the Seating coverage report, navigate to Reports → Seating coverage.

The Seating coverage report consists of two sections - ‘Summary’ and ‘Seating plan log’.

Summary

On the left-hand side of the Summary section, there’s a dropdown menu called ‘Summary type’. This contains the following options:

  • Class

  • Author

  • Inclusion group

  • Room

Switching between these options changes the data displayed in the Summary section. Here’s what each option is showing:

  • Class - Shows the total number of seating plans created for each class.

  • Author - Shows the total number of seating plans created by each teacher.

  • Inclusion group - Shows the total number of seating plans where a particular inclusion group indicator is visible. This visibility is based on the teacher selecting the inclusion group in the ‘Card details’ section of their seating plan.

  • Room - Shows the total number of seating plans linked to each room.

Seating plan log

The Seating plan log displays the details of every seating plan across the whole school.

Each row represents an individual seating plan. This means that if multiple seating plans have been created for a class, the class name will appear in multiple rows.

Seating plan details are shown through the following column headings:

  • Class group

  • Author

  • Plan

  • Subject

  • Room

  • Year

  • Created

  • Last edited

The results showing under ‘Plan’ are hyperlinked, allowing you to click straight through to the relevant seating plan.

Sort Seating coverage

On both the ‘Summary’ and the ‘Seating plan log’ section, the data displayed can be sorted in ascending / descending order. To do this, click the arrows on any of the column headings - click twice to sort in reverse order.

To view the data in full screen mode, click the full screen icon (four diagonal arrows) on the top right-hand side of the relevant section.

Filter Seating coverage

You can filter the data in both the ‘Summary’ and the ‘Seating plan log’ sections.

On ‘Summary’, look for the ‘Filter data’ textbox underneath each column heading. Type into this textbox and press Enter on your keyboard to filter the data.

On ‘Seating plan log’, hover your cursor over the relevant column heading and click the three horizontal lines. A text box will appear. In the text box, type a key word and press Enter on your keyboard to filter the data.

Export data

Both the ‘Summary’ and the ‘Seating plan log’ sections include the option to export the data in CSV format. To do this, click the blue button ‘Export CSV’ on the top right-hand side of the relevant section. Any filters you have applied will be carried over.

Use cases

Identify classes without a seating plan

To quickly see which classes do not have a linked seating plan, look at the ‘Summary’ section and select ‘Class’ from the ‘Summary type’ dropdown menu. Just underneath the ‘Total’ column heading, you’ll see the ‘Filter data’ option. Simply type 0 into this box and press Enter on your keyboard. You are now looking at all the classes across the school which have not had a seating plan created.
