What is the Timetable?

The Timetable app in Satchel One provides staff, students, and parents with a structured view of scheduled lessons based on data imported from the school's Management Information System (MIS).

The timetable displays lessons for the current week and up to three weeks in advance and is automatically updated based on the school’s MIS sync or via Timetabler imports.

Access the Timetable

🔒 The actions within this section are controlled by the My timetable permissions.

Click on ‘Timetable’ from the navigation menu or click on the calendar widget on the right-hand side of your dashboard.

Your current week’s schedule will be displayed by default; use the left and right arrows to navigate between weeks, use the date picker to jump to a specific date or click ‘Today’ to return to the current schedule.

View Timetables

Depending on the permissions assigned to your role, you may be able to view timetables belonging to your colleagues or students. Use the filters at the top of your timetable to search for other people and view their schedule too.

My Timetable

Teachers can view their personal timetable directly in Satchel One. The timetable provides a clear, structured view of all scheduled lessons, including the ability to navigate through different weeks. If any changes occur in the school’s MIS, the timetable updates automatically to reflect the most current information.

Other Employee Timetables

🔒 The actions within this section are controlled by the Other employee timetable permissions.

If a teacher needs to check a colleague’s timetable, they can do so quickly and easily. By clicking the ‘View staff timetable’ drop-down menu, they can either browse through the list or start typing their colleague’s name to find them. Once selected, the colleague’s timetable will load, allowing the teacher to navigate through different weeks or print the schedule if needed.

Other Student Timetables

🔒 The actions within this section are controlled by the Other student timetable permissions.

Similarly, to view a student’s timetable, click the ‘View student timetable’ drop-down menu, they can either browse through the list or start typing their students name to find them.m from the results, they will be directed to the student’s profile. Once selected, the students timetable will load, allowing the teacher to navigate through different weeks or print the schedule if needed.

Lesson details & quick actions

Clicking on a lesson will open its detailed view, where you can:

  • See class group, location, teacher, subject, and time.

  • Add a live lesson link (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

Export & print Timetables

To export a Timetable, click options menu (⫶) at the top of the timetable view then click ‘Download’. A pop up will appear and give you an option to download the Timetable.

A PDF file will be downloaded and ready to be printed

Why can’t a student see their lesson?

Ensure they are correctly linked to the class in the MIS.

Why is a teacher’s timetable missing lessons?

Verify the teacher is assigned as the main teacher in the MIS.

Why are lessons overlapping in the timetable?

Check for class membership conflicts in the school’s MIS.

Why are detentions not showing in the timetable?

Confirm the teacher is listed as the cover teacher for that detention.

Why is the timetable not updating?

The sync happens automatically; check the data import schedule.

Can I see cover lessons on my timetable?
